The University of Nairobi held its 7th Open Day from Wednesday, May 25 2017 to Friday, May 27 2017 at the Main Campus. Kenya Science Campus was well represented by the non teaching as well as the academic staff members. Mr. Daudi Nyamwaya, the Campus Administrator and Dr. Kipchirchir I Chumba, the Associate Dean (Science) represented the campus as well as students drawn from the UNESA and SONU Leadership.

The event attracted various stakeholders and partners which included corporate entities and secondary schools just to mention a few and this generated a platform for the various University units, schools and faculties to interact with prospective students. The secondary school pupils were particularly enthusiastic as they sought information on degree courses offered at the campus as well as the relevant qualifications for the same for one to be considered. This, in essence, had a spiral effect on the potential students to spur them to work even harder to be among the students to be considered to join the University of Nairobi as well as Kenya Science Campus for the various degree courses offered.

In the long run, the Open Day will continue to be a success story for the University as well as the campus as it heralds a new chapter in marketing the University of Nairobi and its satellite campuses as a premier University towering above all the other institutions of higher learning here in Kenya as well as regional going by the recent webometrics ranking of University that placed UoN at the top of the log.

The Kenya Science Campus has played a critical role in harnessing and impacting skills on students to equip them in their respective careers and aspirations, more so as relates to science based courses which the government has continued to lay a lot of emphasis on.

Going forward, the profile of the campus keeps growing exponentially as the University continues to embrace the every changing and dynamic technology in its academic as well as administrative functions. The sky is the limit in the arena of possibilities and success.
