The Kenya Science Campus was privileged to receive sports equipment donated by Soka Talent Academy on Friday, September 7 2018 at the Basketball Court behind Uhuru Hall.


The event was graced by the Deputy Principal, Prof. Horace Ochanda who appreciated the relationship the campus has had with the academy going back several years. The event was also attended by the University of Nairobi Students Association (UNSA) student leadership led by the Chairman, Mr. Geoffrey Kosgey Kibet, the Director, Soccer Talent Academy, Mr. Glyde Aswani, the Senior ICT Officer and the Administrative Assistant, KSC.


Prof. Ochanda brought to the students’ leadership attention that our fields are hired by external entities which have to meet approval from the Senior Games Tutor before being authorized by the Deputy Principal. The funds generated from the hiring of the fields over the weekend is ploughed back to improve the various activities at the campus. On his side, the Director of the academy thanked the campus for an opportunity to utilize the field and engage the campus soccer team on numerous occasions for friendly matches.


The Deputy Principal challenged the leadership led by the Chairman, Mr. Koskey Kibet especially the sports representative to appreciate the good gesture and take the initiative to build teams up from the various sports activities available, reviving them to be successful. The sports equipment handed over to the UNSA Leadership by the Soka Talent Academy Director were:


  • Two (2) Hand Balls
  • Two (2) Badminton Rackets
  • Two (2) Soccer Balls


The Deputy Principal took cognizance of the impact the academy had had in inspiring young children to be successful in sports activities especially soccer. It was imperative for the campus to be active as well in all sports activities going forward.
