COMPLETION OF 2ND SEMESTER TEACHING FOR B.Ed. (ARTS) B.Ed. (SCIENCE), B.Ed. (ICT) AND POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

Following the resolutions of the Deans’ Committee meeting today 08/04/2020 to complete the second semester teaching and learning at CEES, it was noted and agreed as follows:

Collaboration in higher education and research

We live in an age of globalization. This is especially true for academic research and education. Research projects increasingly involve researchers from different parts of the world and students are mobile, looking for educational opportunities across national borders. However, institutional bases for global interaction in research and education are still underdeveloped.

December 2019 Graduation

Congratulations to the graduating class of December 2019.

The 62nd graduation ceremony was held on Friday, December 20, 2019. During this ceremony, Kenya Science Campus produced 166 graduands. The graduands were drawn from the 2 academic programmes offered at the Campus i.e Bachelor of Education (Science) and Bachelor of Education (ICT). Of the 166 graduands, 10 graduated with 1st class honors, 70 with 2nd Class Honors- Upper Division, 84 with 2nd class honors-Lower Division and 2 with a pass.

Kenya Science participates in UNSA Electoral Colleges (EC) and Campus Students’ Association (CSA) elections

 The race at KSC Electoral College was between two teams; Team Falcon and Team Elites where team Falcon carried the day. Students turned up in high to cast their votes with a view of electing their preferred leaders. This saw KSC Electoral College register the highest voter turnout (75%) in all the Twelve (12) Electoral Colleges of the University of Nairobi.

Samuel Nyamwaya was elected UNSA Chairperson at the Kenya Science Campus. Therefore the KSC UNSA team 2019/2020 is as follows:

Tour of Kenya Science Campus by the University of Nairobi Council members

During the visit, Prof. Jumba made a brief presentation highlighting the College history since 1953; the College is the Oldest College of the 6 Colleges in the University.  In his presentation, Prof. Jumba also explained in detail the plans the College has laid out in the 2018-2023 College strategic plan. The College has a vision to be a leading College of Excellence in Education and Sports Sciences with a mission to provide leadership in the realm of educational studies, sports sciences and teacher professional development.
